Born and raised in Poland, Irek Slobodzian brings a wealth of global expertise and a passion for engineering and innovation to his professional journey.
With a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Athabasca University, Irek possesses a deep technical and strategic acumen. Over the past 25 years, he has successfully driven business development across North America, earning a reputation for excellence in asset reliability management. For the last 20 years, he has specialized in optimizing equipment reliability, leveraging his extensive knowledge and experience to deliver impactful results for clients. Irek is also a partner at Wrench Pro, contributing his expertise and leadership to the growth and success of the business.
In addition to his professional pursuits, Irek is passionate about giving back to the community. He manages the Edmonton Kyokushin Karate Club, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing outstanding martial arts instruction to children and adults. Under his leadership, the club fosters discipline, confidence, and personal growth in its members. Irek also serves as the tournament director for the Alberta Open Kyokushin Karate Championships, playing a pivotal role in promoting the sport and organizing high-quality competitive events.
Beyond his professional and community roles, Irek is a devoted family man who enjoys spending quality time with his daughters, Maja and Daniella. His hobbies include practicing karate and traveling, activities that reflect his dynamic and hands-on approach to both work and life.
Phil Gauvin
A native of New Brunswick, Canada, Phil grew up immersed in the world of machinery and engines. His family’s legacy of mechanical craftsmanship dates back four generations, starting with his great-grandfather. Working in his father’s shop, Phil developed a deep passion for engines and a respect for the precision and dedication required to rebuild them. This rich family history shaped Phil’s career and continues to inspire his work today.
As a Red Seal Automotive Technician, Phil combines industrial expertise with advanced automotive skills, giving him the versatility to work on everything from light-duty vehicles to heavy machinery. His extensive experience with trucks and cars has made him a trusted expert in the automotive industry. Whether it’s repairing a family vehicle or servicing a fleet of work trucks, Phil’s attention to detail and commitment to quality ensure exceptional results every time.
In 2022, Phil founded Wrench Pro, a business dedicated to providing expert maintenance solutions for light and heavy-duty equipment. Specializing in preventative maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and fleet management, Wrench Pro helps clients improve equipment reliability, reduce operational costs, and extend asset lifespan. The company’s focus on precision maintenance and inspections ensures that problems are detected and addressed early, keeping vehicles and equipment efficient and ready to perform.
Outside of work, Phil enjoys spending time with wife Cheryl and son, Jacob, camping, tinkering with projects, and staying active through baseball and karate. His personal motto, “Get it done,” reflects his dedication to solving problems and delivering exceptional results.
